Scaffolding Inspector & Supervisor Training in Saudi Arabia

A course for the people who sign scaffolds off and the people who run the erection crews on Saudi plant, shutdown and construction sites. Delegates learn scaffold components and types, inspection checklists, the tagging system, platform loading and tie requirements, so a scaffold is handed over only when it is fit to use. Content is aligned to the scheme your client specifies.

Scope of Work

  • ✓Scaffold types and components: tube-and-fitting, system (modular) and mobile tower scaffolds, couplers, ledgers, transoms, standards, braces, base plates and jacks
  • ✓Foundations and ground conditions: sole boards, base plates, levels, adjacent excavations, drainage and surface loading
  • ✓Duty and load classes: how platform loading, bay length and material storage relate to the load class in the scaffold design or manufacturer's data, and why a light-duty scaffold must not carry stored material
  • ✓Ties, bracing and stability: tie patterns, anchorage checks, bracing, and the extra wind load on sheeted or netted scaffolds
  • ✓Platforms and access: decking, guardrails, toe boards, gaps, ladders and stair towers
  • ✓Inspection and tagging: pre-use and periodic inspections, inspection after alteration, impact or adverse weather, checklists, defect handling and the tag system (commonly colour-coded, for example green for safe to use and red for do not use, with colours, format and interval following the client's requirement)
  • ✓Supervisor duties: planning erection, alteration and dismantling, competent crews, harness use while erecting, exclusion zones, dropped-object control and handover records

Standards

  • ✓OSHA 29 CFR 1926 Subpart L (scaffolds)
  • ✓EN 12811-1 (scaffold performance requirements and general design)
  • ✓Saudi Aramco General Instructions (GI)
  • ✓Manufacturer erection manuals and client scaffold procedures

You Receive

  • ✓Course certificate
  • ✓Personnel competency card stating inspector or supervisor level as defined by the scheme

FAQs

What is the difference between a scaffold inspector and a scaffold supervisor?+

Commonly the inspector examines completed scaffolds against a checklist and decides whether to tag them for use, while the supervisor directs the erection crew and is accountable for the work. Some client schemes combine or rename the roles, so we align the course to the one you work under.

Will a scaffold inspector certificate be accepted at Aramco or SABIC sites?+

Acceptance is decided by the client or site owner, not by the training provider, and the scheme can change. Some clients require inspectors to hold a card issued under their own scheme, in which case a course certificate alone will not be enough. We build the course around the requirements you give us and confirm the current approval status and reference with you in writing before you book.

Do you also inspect our scaffolds on site?+

Independent scaffold inspections are covered by our Scaffolding Safety & Inspection service. This course trains your own inspectors and supervisors so that day-to-day scaffold checks are done by competent people.

How often does a scaffold have to be inspected?+

OSHA 29 CFR 1926 Subpart L requires inspection by a competent person before each work shift and after any occurrence that could affect structural integrity. Client schemes usually add a formal inspection and tag recheck at a set interval, and the interval differs between clients. We teach the routine to the scheme you work under, so confirm it with us when you enquire.
