Rigger Level 2 Training & Certification in Saudi Arabia
A Rigger Level 2 course, also known as an advanced rigger course, for experienced riggers who plan and rig lifts rather than only follow instructions. Candidates calculate load weight and centre of gravity, select multi-leg slings and hardware, prepare rigging plans and recognise when a tandem or complex lift needs engineering input. Content is aligned to your client's Level 2 definition.
Scope of Work
- ✓Load weight and centre of gravity: estimating and calculating mass, locating the centre of gravity and checking it against marked weights and documents
- ✓Sling angle and leg loading: multi-leg slings, unequal leg angles and load sharing, how many legs actually carry the load on three- and four-leg slings, and calculating leg loads to select slings of adequate capacity
- ✓Rigging plans: sketches, equipment lists, sling and hardware selection, capacity checks and the information handed to the crane operator and lift supervisor
- ✓Complex configurations: lifting beams and spreader bars, offset centre of gravity, tailing, up-ending and turning loads, and the basics of tandem lifts and when engineering approval is needed
- ✓Special loads: long, flexible, sharp-edged and delicate items, with edge protection and sling protection, and how tight bends and sharp edges reduce sling capacity
- ✓Detailed inspection of slings, shackles, hooks and below-the-hook devices, with removal-from-service criteria and records
- ✓Lift communication and control: briefing the team, exclusion zones, signals and stop-work authority, then a written exam with calculations and a practical rigging scenario
Standards
- ✓ASME B30.9 (slings)
- ✓ASME B30.26 (rigging hardware)
- ✓ASME B30.20 (below-the-hook lifting devices)
- ✓Manufacturer specifications, client rigging procedures and lift-plan requirements
You Receive
- ✓Course certificate with a unique number that can be checked through our certificate verification page
- ✓Competency card stating the rigger level and the scheme the course was aligned to
- ✓Written exam and practical rigging assessment records
- ✓The candidate's assessed rigging plan and calculation sheet for their portfolio

FAQs
What does a Level 2 rigger do that a Level 1 rigger does not?+
Definitions vary by client scheme, but Level 2 is commonly an advanced rigger who determines load weight and centre of gravity, selects slings and hardware and prepares rigging plans. Level 1 riggers more typically work to a plan prepared by someone else. We confirm your project's definition before aligning the course.
Do I need Level 1 before an advanced rigger course in KSA?+
Prerequisites depend on the scheme and the candidate. We expect field rigging experience and sound sling knowledge, check this at enrolment and recommend Level 1 first if the basics are not secure.
Does Level 2 cover tandem and critical lifts?+
It covers the principles: load sharing, how sling angles and an offset centre of gravity change leg loads, and when a lift goes beyond a rigger's remit. Critical-lift planning and supervision are covered in Level 3, and tandem lifts generally need an engineered lift plan.
Is an advanced rigger certificate accepted by Aramco or other clients?+
Acceptance is decided by the client and the project scheme. We align the content to the requirement you send us, such as the current revision of Saudi Aramco GI 7.030 where it applies, and we tell you plainly the current approval status of the course before you book.
