Third-Party Inspection (TPI) for Aramco Projects in Saudi Arabia
Contractors mobilising to Saudi Aramco and Aramco-linked sites are routinely asked for independent third-party inspection of cranes, lifting equipment and heavy equipment before it is allowed to work. From Dammam, EES inspects against requirements such as the Saudi Aramco General Instructions, the relevant ASME standard and your client's procedure, then issues the report, certificate and inspection tag in the scheme your client specifies.
Scope of Work
- ✓Pre-mobilisation inspection of mobile, crawler, tower and overhead cranes against requirements such as the current revision of Saudi Aramco GI 7.030, with function checks of the rated-capacity limiter or load-moment indicator, anti-two-block and limit switches, and a witnessed load test where the scheme calls for one
- ✓Heavy equipment inspection of excavators, loaders, forklifts, trucks and trailers: brakes, steering, hydraulics, lights, reversing alarms, seat belts, fire extinguishers, ROPS/FOPS and operator cab condition
- ✓Lifting gear audit for the gate check: identification, WLL / SWL marking and a current examination certificate for each sling, shackle, hook, hoist and beam, with unmarked or uncertified items held back for examination
- ✓Personnel baskets (manbaskets) checked against requirements such as Saudi Aramco GI 7.027 (current revision) where the project applies it, and MEWPs inspected and function-tested to the manufacturer's manual
- ✓Review of equipment documents, previous test certificates, maintenance records, load charts and operator, rigger and signaller competency evidence against the client's checklist
- ✓Periodic, post-repair and post-incident re-inspection, with stickers or tags applied to the scheme your client specifies
- ✓On-site attendance at your yard, laydown area or project in Dammam, Jubail, Ras Tanura and across the Eastern Province and the Kingdom, so equipment does not have to be transported to us
Standards
- ✓Saudi Aramco General Instructions (GI), including requirements such as GI 7.030 for cranes and lifting equipment and GI 7.027 for personnel baskets (current revisions)
- ✓ASME B30 series, including B30.5 (mobile and locomotive cranes), B30.9 (slings) and B30.23 (personnel lifting systems)
- ✓ANSI/ITSDF B56.1 (low and high lift trucks)
- ✓ISO/IEC 17020 (requirements for inspection bodies), used as the reference for impartial, documented inspection
- ✓Client and project inspection procedures and manufacturer specifications
You Receive
- ✓Signed inspection report with findings, test results and pass / fail status for each item
- ✓Certificate of Conformity for equipment that meets the inspected requirements at the time of inspection
- ✓Inspection sticker or tag in the colour and format your client's scheme specifies
- ✓Defect and corrective-action list, re-inspection record and an equipment register for the mobilisation

FAQs
Is EES an Aramco approved third-party inspection company?+
Approval to inspect on Aramco work is granted by Saudi Aramco or the project owner; an inspection company cannot grant it to itself. EES inspects against requirements such as the Aramco General Instructions and your project procedure. Before you award, ask us for our current approval status and reference in writing, and verify it directly with Saudi Aramco or the project owner.
What is the Aramco blue sticker and how do I get one?+
Contractors use the term for the colour-coded inspection sticker or tag associated with equipment that has passed third-party inspection for Aramco sites. The exact colour, format and issuer follow the current Aramco or project scheme, which we confirm before inspection. To get one, the equipment must first pass the inspection with its documents in order.
Which equipment is inspected before mobilising to an Aramco site, and what documents should be ready?+
Cranes and other lifting appliances, lifting gear, personnel baskets, forklifts and heavy mobile equipment are commonly checked at the gate, but requirements differ by project. Have the manufacturer's manual, load charts, previous test certificates, maintenance records and operator competency evidence ready, and send us the equipment list and the contract's inspection clause so we can confirm scope and interval.
Can you inspect at our yard in Jubail, Ras Tanura or Yanbu?+
Yes. Inspections are carried out where the equipment is: your yard, laydown area or site. Our base is Dammam and we mobilise across the Eastern Province and to Riyadh, Jeddah and Yanbu; tell us the location and quantity so we can confirm lead time.
