Excavator Operator Training & Certification in Saudi Arabia
An excavator operator training and certification course, often the first machine in a heavy equipment operator programme for earthworks, utilities and plant crews. It covers machine controls, safe digging and loading, trench and edge hazards, underground services and daily checks, followed by a written test and a practical assessment on a machine. Content follows OSHA excavation principles and your site's permit-to-dig rules, and we can scope further machine types for projects in the Eastern Province, Riyadh and NEOM.
Scope of Work
- ✓Excavator anatomy and controls: tracks or wheels, boom, stick, bucket, quick-hitch, hydraulics, cab layout and joystick patterns
- ✓Pre-start and daily checks of undercarriage, hydraulic hoses, bucket pins, quick-hitch locking, cab structure, alarms, fluids and leaks
- ✓Safe digging, loading and travel: swing radius, working near edges, slopes and soft ground, loading trucks, parking and shutdown
- ✓Excavation and trench hazards: collapse, edge protection, spoil placement, access and egress, groundwater and confined-space or atmospheric risks
- ✓Underground services: permit-to-dig, scanning and marking, hand digging near services and the immediate actions after striking a cable or pipe
- ✓Lifting with an excavator only where the machine and attachments are designed and rated for it, with rated lifting points and a competent rigger
- ✓Working with others: banksman signals, exclusion zones, public interfaces and heat stress, then a written test and a practical digging assessment

Do you offer heavy equipment operator training and certification for loaders, dozers and graders?＋
Excavator is a dedicated course. For wheel loaders, dozers, graders and similar machines, tell us the machine types, your site requirements and the location, whether the Eastern Province, Riyadh or NEOM, and we will scope a heavy equipment operator programme around your fleet.
Is an excavator certificate valid for every machine size?＋
The certificate records the machine type assessed. Controls, reach and swing differ between compact, standard and long-reach excavators, so we assess on the class your operators run and advise on familiarisation when they change class.
Does the course cover cable strikes and underground services?＋
Yes. Candidates learn how permit-to-dig, scanning and hand digging fit together and what to do immediately after contact with a service. Where your client's permit rules differ from our default content, we follow the client's rules.
Can the practical test be done on our own excavator at site?＋
Yes, where the machine has a valid inspection record and a safe practice area is available. If it does not, we can arrange the inspection first so the assessment is carried out on a machine that is fit to use.
